The
future of domestic violence assessment is in recidivism prediction, which we
believe dovetails with domestic violence treatment effectiveness or outcome.
Our domestic violence screening test is the Domestic Violence Inventory (DVI), whereas our domestic violence treatment outcome or treatment effectiveness test is the DVI Pre-Post.
Four
Domestic Violence Tests
The Domestic Violence Inventory (DVI) evaluates adults accused or convicted of domestic violence. The DVI evaluates violence (lethality), substance (alcohol & drugs) use and abuse, control issues, and stress coping abilities. It has 155 items and takes 30 minutes to complete.
Each of these four domestic violence tests have
the same six (6) scales or measures: 1. Truthfulness Scale, 2. Violence
(Lethality) Scale, 3. Control Scale, 4. Alcohol Scale, 5. Drugs
Scale, and 6. Stress Coping Abilities Scale. These six scales, when
linked together, make a comprehensive and meaningful domestic violence profile
or protocol.
The DVI-Short Form
is a brief (76 items) version of the DVI that takes 15 to 20 minutes to
complete. Approximately 20 percent of domestic violence offenders are reading
impaired and they benefit from shorter tests.
The DVI-Juvenile
is designed for juveniles age 12 to 17 years. DVI-Juvenile test applications
include juvenile courts, probation departments, troubled youth counseling and
treatment programs.
The DVI Pre-Post is used when you want to know if domestic violence counseling or treatment was successful. The pretest serves as a baseline for posttest comparison. Upon posttest, the computer compares pretest and posttest scale scores and generates a "Comparison Report".
Early detection of domestic violence offenders
facilitates quicker intervention and treat-
ment.
The Truthfulness Scale detects denial and attempts to minimize problems.
